Day 4 was another day of activism with the local Occupy movement, with marchers linking up with twenty young activists camping in downtown Poughkeepsie near the Bank of America.

The day - and 20 miles - flew by, say marchers, who started in Catskill and ended in Kingston. Once again, passing drivers honked their horns, with some stopping to offer encouragement and good wishes. Rallying with members of CWA Local 1120, local labor unions and community supporters, the marchers sent a message to Verizon Wireless.

The soreness kicks in on day 2, say some marchers, but that didn't dampen anyone's enthusiasm for the day. Amazingly, Occupy Hudson formed today, with its very first meeting and event: protesting Bank of America in Hudson. Chanting "Banks got Bailed Out! We got Sold Out!" outside the Hudson branch, 50 marchers, union supporters and Occupy Hudson members protested the giant bank's foreclosure practices and its role in the economic meltdown.

The Verizon Workers' March for the 99%--with a dozen workers marching the whole way from Albany--will arrive in NYC and join a massive rally in Lower Manhattan. Most CWA members are meeting at Verizon HQ at 140 West Street between 4 and 5pm for a large informational picket. Members will march from 140 West Street at 5pm to join a massive rally for the 99% on Foley Square on the two month anniversary of Occupy Wall Street, which has focused attention on corporate greed.
