A group of 140 former AT&T Wireless employees now making up Cingular Wireless's retail sales unit in Maryland organized with CWA on Sept. 20. They will be represented by CWA Local 2107. The American Arbitration Association officially certified union recognition for the group on Sept. 20.

President Bush says he must be frugal with government funds, so he wants to waive the rule requiring federal contractors to pay the prevailing wage for the area where the work is being done and suspend affirmative action requirements.
