CWA Local 14177 and the New Era Cap Co. were honored by Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations with its Champions@Work award, "a tribute to high-road partnerships for quality jobs and quality products in Western New York."

Joining five other major industrial unions, IUE-CWA criticized Delphi Corp.'s new "final" offer that would still cut 24,000 jobs, close factories and slash the wages and benefits of its hourly wage workers as part of its restructuring under Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Union members continued their picket lines and mobilization activities as CWA bargainers pressed for a fair contract and called on Sprint to pull its unreasonable demands.

IUE-CWA and five other major industrial unions have formed a coalition to fight Delphi Corp.'s plan to shift the burden of its bankruptcy onto its hourly employees.
