AT&T Agrees to Return Contracted Tech Support Work

CWA reached an agreement with AT&T to return Internet/DSL support work to the CWA bargaining unit, which potentially could create 2,000 new union jobs.

The bargaining unit of 80 deputy sheriffs with the Clark County Deputy Sheriffs' Association voted to joined CWA Local 9111 on Sept. 14. Local 9111 organizer Don Ruiz assisted the workers.

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all the Local Officers, members and retirees who attended the special Lucent shareholders meeting in Wilmington, Delaware. As I stated in my speech (see below) to the shareholders, it was a sea of red of members and retirees who came to voice their concerns over the direction Lucent was taking with our jobs, healthcare, and pensions.
