John Doran, president of CWA Local 9413, Reno, Nev., doesn’t give up easily.

He’s been battling for nearly two years to win justice — and a union contract — for the 51 residential advisors at the Sierra Nevada Job Corps center near Reno.

One Oscar winner has already being unveiled – but you may not see the presentation when the Academy Awards ceremonies are telecast by ABC-TV on March 23.

When the union’s one and only executive vice president trades in his suit and tie for a pair of Levis late this summer, he’s planning to spend time on a range of personal pursuits that have been shunted aside by more than a half century of union work.
