Hall Sisson, who came to CWA as a lobbyist in 1972 and later served as the union’s deputy political director, has retired. Sisson, who was born and raised in California, was working as a lobbyist for the National Aerospace Services Association when he learned of a job at CWA.

IUE members at General Electric Co. have overwhelmingly ratified a three-year contract, described as the richest economic package the union has ever negotiated with the company.

The old-fashioned joys of Labor Day are getting a 21st-century spin this year. A festival website complete with bands, political speakers, an arcade, bazaar and even a virtual parade is going online for a week to celebrate the annual workers’ holiday.
