In a big blow to media giants and the Republican-controlled FCC, the U.S. Senate voted 55-40 on Sept. 15 to wipe out the full slate of controversial media rules put forth by the Federal Communications Commission.

GM, Delphi Pacts Come Down to Wire
IUE-CWA is gearing up for intense bargaining with General Motors Corp. and auto parts supplier Delphi. The GM contract, affecting 4,000 members, expires Nov. 17. The Delphi pact, covering 11,000, is up Nov. 15.
