Foundation Ambassador Shares Story of Growing Up HIV Positive

The Foundation was lucky to welcome back one of our Foundation Ambassadors, Ben Banks, for a discussion of the issues of transitioning from pediatric HIV care to adult care. During a childhood battle with a cancer that attacked his lungs and kidneys, he contracted HIV from a blood transfusion. Ben has also spoken at one of our CWA Conventions and received a rousing show of support from attending delegates.
One-Third of Congress Demands Transparency and Accountability in TPP Negotiations

Today, 132 Members of Congress delivered a letter to United States Trade Ambassador Ron Kirk pressing him to support transparency and openness in the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) negotiations. The Members called for stronger congressional consultations and access to documents, and greater public transparency on the proposals.

Agents Face "Irreparable Harm" Over Latest Delay

The decision by U.S. District Court Judge Terry Means granting a temporary restraining order to block the vote by nearly 10,000 passenger service agents at American Airlines is an attack on democracy and workers' rights. Workers will suffer irreparable harm - the standard for such an order - by being denied their democratic right to vote, not the airline.
