During May 19-20, 2006, the District 9 Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Retreat was conducted in Manhattan Beach, California. The retreat was held for the primary purposes of bringing local OSH health activists together to Discuss, coordinate, and develop tactics and strategies focused upon identifying, preventing, and/or resolving member workplace safety and health hazards and related illnesses and injuries - Share information on successes and failures, and establish and further communication and networking between and among national, district, and local OSH activists.

On May 5-6, District 7 and the Union's Occupational Safety and Health Department conducted the District's Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Retreat. The retreat was held for the primary purposes of bringing local OSH health activists together to discuss, coordinate, and develop tactics and strategies focused upon identifying, preventing, and/or resolving member workplace safety and health hazards and related illnesses, injuries, and fatalities, share information on successes and failures, and establish and further communication and networking between and among national, district, and local OSH activists.

Beginning February 1 through April 30, 2006, employers must post a summary of the total number of work-related injuries and illnesses that occurred in 2005. This information, contained on the OSHA 300A Log or an equivalent form, will provide an indication of the employer?s provision of safe and healthful working conditions.
