The ActBlue Tech Workers Union/CWA has been voluntarily recognized by ActBlue Technical Services’ management. The workers will be members of the Communications Workers of America (CWA) Local 1400. The union, comprised of 80 workers, and management plan to promptly begin negotiations for a collective bargaining agreement.

A majority of retail workers at the Penn Square Apple store in Oklahoma City won their union election and will be represented by the Communications Workers of America (CWA). The workers, known as Apple Retail Workers/CWA, are the second group of Apple retail workers to win union representation in the US.

After being denied voluntary recognition, workers at McKay’s Knoxville bookstore filed for a National Labor Relations Board election with a strong majority of workers pledging to vote for a union.

Mailers and Typographers represented by the Communications Workers of America along with members of the Teamsters and Pressmen’s Union will walk out over unfair labor practices including unilateral changes to their health care plan.

The unfair labor practice charge alleges managers at the company’s Penn Square location informed workers that support for the union was futile, threatened to withhold benefits from workers supporting the union, engaged in unlawful surveillance, interrogated workers, and subjected workers to captive audience meetings.
