Maly Elected to Head C&T

Ralph Maly, elected by acclamation at the convention to head Communications and Technologies, pledges to uphold the union’s constitution as a CWA vice president. Maly was appointed by the CWA executive board earlier this year to succeed longtime C&T Vice Pres. Jim Irvine, who retired.

Killer Sentenced to Four Life Terms

The man who opened fire in a gay bar in Roanoke, Va., last September, killing CWA member Danny Overstreet and wounding six others, has been sentenced to four consecutive life terms in prison.

American Eagle Agents To Vote on Joining CWA

American Eagle airline agents have the chance to vote this month for CWA representation in an election set by the National Mediation Board.

A majority of the 3,200 passenger services agents petitioned the NMB for an election. Ballots will be mailed Aug. 10 and counted Sept 12.
