Stop the Attacks on Our Rights at Work

Today President Barack Obama moved to restore all five members of the National Labor Relations Board to ensure it can fully protect workers’ rights on the job. But before the Senate can even schedule confirmation hearings for the president’s nominees, House Republicans intend on voting on H.R. 1120, a bill aimed at freezing all NLRB actions and stopping the board's enforcement of labor laws.

“It’s important that the Senate moves quickly, to counter a cynical move by House Republicans to stop the NLRB from making any decisions without a quorum of three, despite the fact that Senate Republicans have blocked all nominations to the Board. The ridiculously named ‘Preventing Greater Uncertainty in Labor-Management Relations Act’ will come up for a House vote later this week,” said CWA President Larry Cohen.

This bill is part of a systematic attack on working people by corporations and the politicians who carry out the corporate agenda. They want to roll back the clock, allowing employers to ignore labor law and collective bargaining agreements and leaving you with no way to fight back against injustices at work.
