Starting last week, as our bargaining teams continued to negotiate with the company around the clock at the offices of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, Verizon workers and our supporters across the country mobilized like never before to demand that the company come to the negotiating table to bargain fair contracts and good union jobs.

Since July 25, representatives from CWA, IBEW, and Verizon have met with federal mediators behind closed doors in Washington, DC, in an attempt to resolve contract negotiations going on for more than a year. A wave of support for workers has flooded Verizon corporate offices.

Nearly five thousand workers and supporters rallied at the Verizon offices in downtown Philadelphia on Saturday morning to demand a fair contract and good jobs at Verizon.

About 175 people held a vigil at Verizon's offices in Irving, Texas, last Saturday while time for negotiating a new contract ran out.
