Determined to keep fighting for a fair wage and benefit package, child support enforcement workers in Allen County, Ohio, represented by Local 4319 were into the third week of a strike as the CWA News went to press.

CWA has joined members of Congress and pension rights supporters in calling on the Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service to rescind proposed regulations that threaten workers' retirement security.

Speaking at the Legislative-Political Conference, former President William Jefferson Clinton told CWA members that working families have all the evidence they need to take back the country from corporate forces in the 2004 election. Here are some excerpts from his well received speech:

Rising unemployment. Millions of children, and adults, with no health insurance. The skyrocketing federal deficit. The future of Medicare and Social Security at risk. States frantically cutting vital programs to balance the books.

The executive board of the Association of Flight Attendants has authorized the union to move forward on a merger agreement with CWA. CWA and the 40,000 member AFA are pursuing a partnership that will enhance and expand representation of airline workers at both unions.
