With the beginning of a new leadership era, CWA is now looking to the future by reaching out to every element of CWA "to examine our union thoroughly from top to bottom in order to best represent our members."

Delegates to CWA's 67th annual convention were witnesses to history as the union gave an emotional and grateful sendoff to the union's president for the past 20 years, Morton Bahr, and enthusiastically welcomed Larry Cohen as his successor.

The hundreds - and perhaps thousands - of CWA families along the Gulf Coast who suffered the wrath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita have lost homes, cars, pets and, in some cases, friends and relatives.

Ensuring voting rights for all, protecting pensions and keeping American jobs at home were among the issues delegates pledged to fight for in resolutions passed at CWA's 67th annual convention.
