On April 28, 2008, CWA and the U.S. labor movement will once again celebrate and observe Workers' Memorial Day to remember those who have become ill, injured, or killed on the job, as well as to renew our fight for strong safety and health protections. Participation in Workers' Memorial Day -- 2008 is of particular significance to CWA. During the last year, we lost four of our members to workplace fatalities. In addition, many of our members have suffered work-related injuries, illnesses, and "near misses"; in some cases, suffering severe medical disorders because of these incidents.
Communications Workers and Teamsters Join Forces at Newly Merged Piedmont Airlines
Washington, D.C. – The Communications Workers of America and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters are joining forces to help customer service and ramp employees at Piedmont Airlines get the union representation they need in a changing industry.
CWA, Lucent End Early Contract Talks Without Settlement, Negotiations to Resume in October

Washington, D.C. -- The Communications Workers of America and Lucent Technologies ended early contract negotiations on July 2, 2004. The parties will resume talks in October for a new contract to replace the agreement that expires on Oct. 31.

CWA Members Approve SBC Contract
