In a partial victory for the long-suffering workers at the Chinese Daily News, a National Labor Relations Board administrative law judge has found the newspaper guilty of 14 counts of unfair labor practices in its relentless campaign against unionization for 150 employees.

CWA reached a tentative agreement with Cingular Wireless covering 5,300 workers under the "Orange Contract" in Districts 1, 2, 4, 7, 9 and 13. The mail ratification vote, conducted by the American Arbitration Association, was being finalized as the CWA News went to press.

The Federal Communications Commission is considering lifting the current ban on the use of cell phones by airline passengers during flight, and that's a nightmare scenario for flight attendants and the traveling public, said Pat Friend, president of AFA-CWA.
