The 2009 CWA Occupational Safety and Health Conference will be held on Saturday, October 3 through Monday, October 5, 2009, at the Holiday Inn On-the-Bay, San Diego, California. This year's conference will feature a number of important topics for the union's leaders and safety and health activists. We will highlight a number of positive occupational and environmental safety and health changes initiated by the Obama Administration.

I am pleased to announce that Dave LeGrande, OSHA Director for CWA, and Orange Bargaining Team member Joe Sison, have agreed to serve on the Mobility Orange Safety Committee.

CWA's Executive Board this week outlined a CWA action plan to fight efforts in Congress to tax employer health care plans and to win the real health care reform union members need, including an employer mandate.

CONTRACT WITH AT&T PUERTO RICO RATIFIED

Healthcare premiums automatically deducted from payroll and/or pension checks (see Note) are pre-tax deductions, unless the participant requests the deductions be made post-tax. Participants who wish to have their healthcare premiums deducted on a post-tax basis will have to elect the post-tax option during Annual Enrollment.
