The most important provisions of President Obama's health care reform bill (the Affordable Care Act) are set to go into effect January 1, 2014. CWA bargainers from around the country have been sending us excellent questions about health reform and other health care matters. We will be posting our answers to these questions here on the CWA Health Care web page as they come up. Today we'll look at increases in Medicare taxes passed as part of the Affordable Care Act.

As hundreds of protesters stopped traffic and police handcuffed 41 immigrant-rights leaders outside the Capitol, Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.) promised, "What is happening today is going to be repeated around the country." The same coalition of immigration, labor, faith, community and progressive activists that came together for Thursday's act of civil disobedience will be there to greet members of Congress returning home this August recess, continuing to build support for a comprehensive bill that creates a path to citizenship for 11 million undocumented immigrants.
