Congressional candidates from around the nation learned what a difference card check and neutrality makes to workers trying to organize a union when Local 13000 member Peter Braunston addressed a candidate forum in Washington, D.C.

CWA reached an agreement with AT&T to return Internet/DSL support work to the CWA bargaining unit, which potentially could create 2,000 new union jobs.

****Updated with pictures from meeting**** I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all the Local Officers, members and retirees who attended the special Lucent shareholders meeting in Wilmington, Delaware. As I stated in my speech (see below) to the shareholders, it was a sea of red of members and retirees who came to voice their concerns over the direction Lucent was taking with our jobs, healthcare, and pensions.

A local congressman and a newspaper columnist have weighed in on Local 3220's fight for a first contract with Frontier Communications in Statesboro, Ga., and more than 2,000 customers and union supporters have participated in an e-activist campaign in response to leafleting by CWA's Frontier locals.
