While AT&T refuses to release details about plans for its $20 billion in tax savings, a report by the Communications Workers of America (CWA) examines the telecom giant’s continued role in hollowing out the middle class by eliminating thousands of jobs, closing call centers, and shifting customer service and network maintenance to low-wage contractors, including overseas vendors.

The Bargaining Team met with the Company today to receive another comprehensive package after they rejected all the proposals we'd passed on Tuesday, April 24. The Company stated they had made significant movement on certain retrogressive proposals to help move the bargaining process forward.

Workers Call on Labor Department to Investigate General Dynamics as Wage Theft is Uncovered at Five More Call Centers

Workers at five federal contract call centers operated by General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) filed new wage theft complaints with the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division. Since January, over 2,000 current and former GDIT call center workers have come forward to call on the Department of Labor (DOL) to investigate violations of prevailing wage law at the company.

The Bargaining Team met today to complete the review of the Company’s Comprehensive Package that was passed on Friday. In our opinion this package did not match up with the bargaining update they released 4/20/18. We continue to formulate questions and proposals to address the Union’s goal to reach a fair and just contract.
