NABET, Guild Members Weather Anthrax Scare

The nation’s anthrax scare forced some of CWA’s NABET and Newspaper Guild members in New York City to be tested for the disease in October, and CWA is cautioning all members to be careful handling mail.

Board Waives Dues for Members on Military Leave

CWA’s Executive Board acted to waive collection of union dues for CWA members who may be called for military service in conjunction with the war on terrorism.

Niurka Davila, 47, had finished breakfast with friends on the 70th floor of the World Trade Center Sept. 11, then took an elevator to ground level for a smoke break. That was shortly before two jetliners struck the twin towers.
