2024 USW Health, Safety and Environment Conference

Online registration is currently open and will close on July 31, 2024. CWA participants are urged to register online. (On-site registration procedures at the conference are described further down on this page.) All CWA delegates from locals, or CWA staff from Districts or Sectors or HQ, should choose “CWA” as the registration type when completing the registration.
The registration fee for the full week is $450. Please note, there will no longer be a reduced registration fee for anyone who cannot attend all five days of the conference.
The early bird registration fee is $400 if you register online and pay by May 17th. However, to enable CWA locals to receive the benefit of the $50 early bird discount, any CWA local union who registers members by June 30, 2024 will be eligible to submit a request for a $50 reimbursement per delegate AFTER the conference has concluded which will be reimbursed by the CWA OSH Department. The requests for the $50 conference registration fee reimbursement will be made through the PN3 process. Locals requesting this reimbursement must submit the names of the conference attendees along with the receipt(s) for payment in full made by the June 30 deadline. The accounting codes for the $50 reimbursement for registrations paid in full by June 30th will be provided to the District/Sector staff who normally enter local union reimbursement requests into PN3.
In accordance with our established policy, the CWA International Union will not be responsible for the cost of delegate(s) participation. Your local union must bear any expenses for attendance, including the registration fee, airfare, hotel, and lost work time wages where applicable. Inquiries about whether a particular SIF or Growth Fund might be used to offset some of the costs must be directed directly to the SIF or Growth Fund Project Director to obtain permission in advance.

If you choose to register onsite at the conference, there will be a dedicated line for CWAers. The onsite registration schedule is as follows.:

Hotel Reservations:
A block of rooms has been set aside at the hotels listed below with special rates. Rooms are limited, so please book early. The cutoff date for booking hotel room reservations at the participating hotels is Friday March 24, 2023. Hotel reservations can be made either by phone or online. Please use the information below to contact the hotel directly (recommended) or use the link provided to book online. If making arrangements directly with the hotel, identify yourself as an attendee of the 2024 United Steelworkers Health, Safety and Environment Conference. All reservations must be guaranteed with a credit card. One night’s deposit is required. Hotel cancellations will be accepted 72 hours before the day of your arrival; if a cancellation is not made, the room charge and tax will be billed to the credit card on file. Please note, check-in time is 3:00 p.m. and check-out time is 12:00 noon.
