Linda Foley was president of the News(paper) Guild-CWA from 1995, the year the News(paper) Guild merged with CWA, until she left office in 2008. Foley began her career as a journalist for the Lexington, Kentucky Herald-Leader where she became active in the union. During her tenure as Guild president, Foley led the fight for quality journalism and opposed job-destroying media consolidation. In 2021, Foley was elected Maryland state representative from District 15.
