NOKIA BARGAINING REPORT #43

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

The Bargaining Team met with the Company today. The Union passed counter proposals on Article 15 – Paid Time Off, Article 16 – Pay Treatment for Absence and Company Vehicle Usage Program. These proposals are based on an overall agreement with CWA that includes Post-Retirement Medical, Dental and Group Life Insurance benefits, along with a onetime SVTP offer over the life of the contract.

The Company provided additional data responses on 3P costs and other expenses, such as travel and tools. They still have not moved off of their position to go to a total 3P model and eliminate the bargaining unit. The Company contends they can provide quality workmanship through this model and be cost competitive. They also believe the Effects Agreement is a respectful way to get rid of us and will make it easier to transition to another job making less money and benefits.

We have again requested a meeting with Andy Golby, Director of NAM, to discuss our vision of how the core Installers fit into the Field Forces of the Future. We have been assured that the Company is working to make that meeting happen.

We simply MUST mobilize. You need to let Nokia’s Executives and Nokia’s Customers know that eliminating good Union jobs and putting Retiree’s benefits at risk is BAD BUSINESS. Use this link to send an online letter to Nokia’s Ricky Corker, EVP of Americas and Nokia’s Andy Golby, Head of Network Implementation of Americas, telling them to save American jobs and bargain in good faith!

An Injury To One, Is An Injury To All!  United We Stand!
