NOKIA BARGAINING REPORT #26

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

The Company and your Bargaining Team met today. The Company passed an “Effects Agreement” proposal, similar to its previous two proposals, which eliminates the Bargaining Unit in June of 2019. The difference in this proposal, from the others, is the Company apparently took the Union’s concerns of employment security to heart and added a section to the agreement whereby they will provide employees with the contact information of 3P’s who may be hiring (for less). In addition, they will provide Installers' name and contact information to the 3P’s, at the Installer's request. After that you’re on your own! The Company also passed a duration proposal for the new CBA which has it expiring on June 30, 2019. In an apparent gesture of “good will” the Company TA’d Articles 4, 5, 7 and some National Memorandums all carrying forward existing language.

The Company is still insistent that QUALITY has no place in these negotiations, all the while our guys are out fixing 3P problems. In addition, the Company still refuses to provide the Union with data that we need in order to formulate comparative labor cost analysis and meaningful counter proposals in response to the Company’s statements regarding cost and flexibility. The Company Chair “wants to help us get to an end point” and “help us understand” so he, in his sole discretion, will determine what is relevant. It warms our souls to know we have a Guardian Angel looking out for us.

Remember:  if you encounter quality issues with 3P contractors or are sent to clean up their mess, please send the information to the Bargaining Team:  cwalocal1090@yahoo.com.
