Union Rx for New Jersey Care Workers

Exec. Vice Pres. Larry Cohen and District 1 Vice Pres. Larry Mancino, second row, center, pledged full support for an organizing campaign targeting 40,000 residential and health care workers in New Jersey. As part of the effort, CWA is pressing Gov. Jim McGreevey to include neutrality language in all state contracts, said Ed Sabol, administrative assistant to Mancino. Forty stewards and leaders of Locals 1034, 1037, 1039 and 1040, above, met for two days of training in Lawrenceville, N.J., focusing on organizing basics such as home visits, committee recruitment, anti-union campaigns, and a new “Talk to Two” strategy.
