Union Privilege Funds Labor Scholarship
Union Privilege has contributed $25,000 to fund a new scholarship for union activists pursuing a bachelor’s degree at the National Labor College.
The college, located at the George Meany Center for Labor Studies in Silver Spring, Md., offers several labor-related degree programs.
Students must complete one week of on-campus study every four months and keep in touch with instructors by phone and by mail as they complete assignments from home. Educational credit is also given for union experience and related learning.
Applicants for the Union Plus National Labor College Scholarship must be enrolled at the college or be dues-paying members or employees of AFL-CIO affiliated unions.
For a complete description of courses, visit www.georgemeany.org. For further information or to apply for the scholarship, call the Office of Student Services at the college, (301) 431-5404.
