Union Members Ratify Dow Jones Contract

Union workers at Dow Jones & Company overwhelmingly ratified a new three-year contract, with more than 90 percent of those voting approving the agreement.

Steve Yount, president of the Independent Association of Publishers' Employees, TNG-CWA Local 1096, said the local will "continue to defend the contract and enforce the terms we've just won and to work day-in and day-out building a union which can truly respond to the needs of members."

TNG-CWA President Linda Foley said the agreement, reached after some tough negotiations with management, showed the determination of Dow Jones workers to maintain a strong union voice and to preserve their quality workforce. 

IAPE, TNG-CWA represents about 2,000 reporters, editors and other employees at Dow Jones operations across the United States and Canada.
