Special ’98 Bargaining Web Site
CWA has established a special members-only site on the World Wide Web to provide bargaining information for members covered by major negotiations this year.
To get on the site, it is essential that you save the mailing label from the front of this issue of the CWA News, which contains your unique I.D. number. The general public is blocked from accessing the members-only section of the site.
Here are the steps for getting online:
1. Use this Internet address (or URL) — http://telecom98.org. (You will want to bookmark the page so you don’t have to type the address each time.)
2. The first page you see is for the general public. Now click on the button that says, “Members Login.”
3. The next page is the login page where you will enter an I.D. code and a password. Your I.D. code is the first 11 numbers on the second line of your CWA News mailing label, following the # sign (do NOT enter the # sign — only the 11 numbers that follow). For the password, enter the word CARDCHECK and click on “login.”
4. You are now at the members-only site. To pull up the latest report on negotiations with your employer, click on “View Latest Information.” (Note that bargaining with some employers won’t begin until this summer or later.)
The Web site also will have sections for Mobilization updates, background on CWA bargaining issues, CWA news releases, and much more. And if your local union has a Web site, there will be a link from this site.
