Safe & Sound

Ensuring that CWA members are safe and healthy on the job was the focus of two recent workshops, a weeklong session at the IUE-CWA Delphi Joint Activities Training Center in Dayton, Ohio, and a one-day seminar in San Jose, Calif., organized annually by California locals. In a classroom at the Dayton center, above, “training covered everything on safety and health from A to Z,” said CWA Representative Ann McQueary. “The week was full of information, as well as a strong bonding among union brothers and sisters.” The California workshop, top, took on a 60s theme and included sessions on ergonomics, stress and other workplace health issues. “It was a stellar success,” McQueary said.
