Rally in Alpharetta, Georgia - August 23, 2007

We received the following from Roy Hegenbart, President of Local 3250 who attended a rally organized by Walt Andrews, President of Local 3204.  Members of Local 3204, 3218, 3250, the Atlanta Labor Council and Georgia AFL-CIO, turned out in over 100 degree weather, to support their brothers and sisters in Local 3204.

In Unity,

Ralph V. Maly, Jr.

AT&T has moved 75 occupational employees to 600 Northpoint Pkwy, Alpharetta, Ga without due notice to CWA. These members are represented by Local 3204. When Local 3204 President Walter Andrews received no response from inquiries from numerous e-mails and phone calls, he visited the location to inspect the site and obtain clarification as to how the move was being accomplished. He was met with arrogance from AT&T management. He advised AT&T that their movement of the occupational employees was not conforming to the Contract.  Management informed him that the Contract would be interpreted as they see fit and he was ejected from the facility and property.

This Rally was to demonstrate to AT&T that the Contract will be respected and abided to. This Rally was supported by CWA Locals 3204, 3218, 3250 and Members of the Atlanta Labor Council and Georgia AFL-CIO. We will continue to engage in these actions in support of our Members until AT&T commits to respect and abide to our Contract at this location.

In Unity,

Roy Hegenbart, President

CWA Local 3250
