Post Offers "Peanuts" in Contract Talks

Members of TNG-CWA Local 32035 — editorial and commercial workers at the Washington Post — are joined by Mr. Peanut in an informational picket line outside the newspaper’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. Union members talked with shareholders arriving for the annual meeting about their efforts to win a new contract that provides pension improvements and a fair wage increase (instead of peanuts) and maintains the union’s rights to communicate with members and employees. The contract covering about 1,200 newspaper workers expired May 18; negotiations are continuing.
