AT&T Internet Services Bargaining Report #12

The Company and Your Bargaining Team met in two sessions today.

The Company started the session by rejecting Union #1 MOA – Benefits, and passed Company #2 on the MOA. The Company proposed minimal changes to their original proposal.

The Company verbally passed Company #2 - Article 15.01, Section 15.01 with no change to their original proposal.  The Union had rejected Company #1 and rejected Company #2 immediately rejected it again.

The Union held a conference call with Local Presidents, following the morning session. Union Chair Bill Bates reported very little progress had been made at the Table. Your Bargaining Team spoke on key aspects of the Bargaining process and addressed a few of our major concerns, such as Health Care, Working Conditions, Relief Differential and Union Orientation. Your Bargaining Committee thanked the Locals for their Mobilization activities, telling them how helpful the activities had been and encouraged the Locals to keep up the good work.

The Union opened the second session by passing U #1 – MOA – Employee Parking Subsidy, proposing a Company subsidy for employees forced to pay for parking at their work locations.  The Union’s second proposal was Union #1 – MOA – NIC Wage Credit, that would effectively raise the existing wage rate for incumbents in the title if the Company hired an employee at start rate higher than the minimum step.

The Union passed a MOA - Subcontracting that puts the Company on notice that we will NOT accept the Company's ability to subcontract our work if it results in layoffs.

The Union then passed Union #2- MOA - Call Quality Observations, this time coupled with Union #1 a new MOA - Strategic Alliance Committee. The Union pointed out that observations need not be negative or punitive, and that the Strategic Alliance Committee will provide an avenue for the Company and the Union to resolve issues at a National level.

The last of the Union's proposals for the day would provide support and assistance for NIC employees by the Legacy T Joint Healthcare Cost Containment Committee (JCCCC) and the Legacy T Healthcare Coordinator.

The Company rejected Union Proposal #1- Article 2 Company-Union Relations – Section 2.03 C and passed Company #1, with changes to the number of Union Representatives excused without pay to perform Union activities and the number of unpaid hours allowed.  The Company also rejected the Union’s proposal to reduce the probationary period in Article 7, proposing no change from the original language.

The Company rejected the Union’s proposals to improve language in Articles 9 – Time Off, Article 14 - Force Adjustment and Article 10 - Working Conditions, Article 16 - Problem Resolution and MOA – NTP (National Transfer Plan).

The Company and the Union will meet again at the table tomorrow, Friday, July 12th.

There is only 1 more day remaining until the expiration of our current contract!!!

Stand Fast!!! Stay Committed!!! Stay Mobilized!!!!!!!
