"More red than ever in all locations"

Job Action Report from Local 1400

Management Response: They tried to get the person conducting the strike vote kicked out of a public/neutral area in two locations with no success.  At the LPC locations the managers stayed out of sight until voting was complete.  In Andover they tried not to see the giant rat as they pulled in the parking lot.

Attitude of Members Toward Job Action: Very positive.  More red than ever in all locations.  Lots more participation in the informational picketing.

Injured ratMembers are asking more questions and getting more pissed off at the company especially in Andover, our largest center, where they just spent tens of thousands of dollars on landscaping, new floors, dozens of flat screen televisions, etc. all in preparation for a 2 hour visit from Lowell McAdam this past Tuesday.  He held what was dubbed a “town hall” style meeting but we quickly realized that the “town” wasn’t invited.  It was invite only and not a single steward or union leader was invited.  They also blocked all access to the atrium for the 2 hours he was speaking including black curtains to block people who weren’t invited and forced the members (commoners) to walk all over hells half acre to get out of the building all during prime lunch time.  Also no food deliveries allowed and of course we lost our cafeteria in December.  Very segregated “town” I guess Lowell didn’t want anything to do with the real people….
