Mobilization for 2012 Bargaining

We have begun the important task of planning for Mobilization for our 2012 Bargaining.  This includes all the Districts whose Contracts expire in April.  Representatives from District One (Ronny Canterino), District 4 (Susan Baxter Fleming), District 9 (Ellen West), and myself for Legacy T have been meeting for several months, making plans and preparing a Mobilization Training for the Locals.  We tested the training with Mobilization Coordinators from around the country, and after we make some changes they will be contacting you to roll it out to the Locals in late October and early November. The training is geared to activists in each Local and is specifically geared to how to engage in activities that will make a significant effect on what power we have at the bargaining table.

 

We would like to roll out the training to Board members, stewards, and other members who are active in the Local.  Our goal is 10%.  The cost will be covered by the SIF.

 

These same people will be working with each of your Local Mobilization coordinators as we build the campaign. Our effort this time will include some nationally coordinated activities plus whatever your Local decides to do on its own.  We are aiming for a much higher level of accountability from each Local, and we will be spreading the news of each Local's participation in the various activities.  The first action, aside from the training, will be the membership bargaining surveys.

District Seven: Shari Wojtowicz - 7250 (She will also be our national Legacy coordinator)
