Local 4320 Mobilization Activity

We received the following report from Jack Huber, President of Local 4320:

"On May 10th local officers, chief stewards, retiree's, our secretary, and the spouse of a bargaining team member (Cindy Pennington) decided to visit every Kinko store in and around Columbus, all eleven of them. We had 5 roving teams of 3 people who hit the 10 outlying stores and one stationary team at the downtown location. After the roving teams made their visits with show of interest cards, flyers, and bulletin boards we all headed to the downtown location for the finale.

"Things were abuzz at the downtown location where past Local 4320 President and retiree Bud McNichols, Cindy Pennington (Phil's wife) and retiree Debby Huber had set up shop. They conducted a petition drive asking passers-by to show their support, had a piano and piano player on the High St. sidewalk (the main street in downtown Columbus) and had a box truck displaying signs about organizing Kinko's. The irony of the truck and signs was that Kinko's printed the signs. Sorry about not using a union printer but this was too good to pass up on this one occasion.

"After the noon drawing we all went into the downtown store thru two entrances and passed out what information we could and somehow-someway a union bulletin board was posted."
