Internet Data Center Knowledge Test II (IDCKTII)
Internet Data Center Knowledge Test II (IDCKTII)
Effective November 29, 2013, the Internet Data Center Knowledge Test II (IDCKT II) will replace the Internet Data Center Knowledge Test (IDCKT) as a basic requirement for obtaining test qualified status for the IDC Technical Specialist title. The new test is simply an update to the IDCKT to account for technology changes. Like the IDCKT, it will be made up of four parts: Hardware, Software, Networks and Cabling; it will be a pass/fall test; it will be administered via paper-and-pencil or computer; and it will assess candidates’ knowledge or important job related information. Candidates for the IDC Technical Specialist title will also continue to be required to qualify on the Technical Specialist – Telephone Ability Battery (TS-TAB) Q1 in addition to the IDCKT II test to become test qualified for this title.
The retest intervals for the IDCKT II are 6 months for the first and second retests, and one year for any subsequent retests.
Grandfathering
- Candidates who currently have a qualified test record on file for IDCKT will be automatically grandfathered on the IDCKT II. It may take up to 30 days after implementation of the new test to transition an employee’s “grandfathered” status.
Test information pamphlets can be requested from the Career Coordinators: Lizzie Baker (214) 841-7415 or Mary Ellen Mazzeo (315) 442-3893.
