In the News: Nine-Month Lockout Ends for Toledo Blade Printers

Thirteen members of CWA's Printing Sector at the Toledo Blade, locked out since last August, headed back to work in June after voting to accept a contract with concessions but none of the anti-union language the company originally demanded.

Printing Sector President Bill Boarman said the Blade has agreed to pay $3.5 million to the Printers and 200 Teamsters who were also locked out as part of a back-pay agreement that will settle unfair labor practice charges against the paper. "Our people really stuck together. Their unity was tremendous," said Boarman.
