In Iowa, Speed Matters

CWA's Speed Matters campaign has geared up in Iowa, where local coordinators are training and mobilizing Stewards Army activists to take the "speed matters" message to political and community events around the key presidential caucus state.

As proof that the message is getting delivered, CWA President Larry Cohen said Democratic candidates at every campaign stop are talking about high-speed Internet development for job and economic growth. Cohen was in Iowa recently for one of the forums. (See separate story, page 4).

From a statewide bike race to the Iowa state fair to Labor Day rallies, CWAers in red "Speed Matters" T-shirts are distributing flyers and other materials and raising the issue whenever possible with presidential candidates. Steve Abbott, CWA Local 7108, and Laurie Saroka, Local 7102, are coordinating the effort with CWA staff.
