What's wrong with this picture?
Despite its deep pockets, Verizon sends thousands of jobs to non-union contractors in the U.S. and in other countries that almost invariably pay lower wages and less in benefits.
Contracting is just one piece of management’s very deliberate strategy to shrink the number of union jobs at Verizon. As the size
of the union workforce decreases, so does our power: Power to keep our standard of living and power to protect the gains generations of Verizon workers have fought for.
So we’re adding one more item to the checklist:
Union members mobilizing and fighting back against contracting!
