CWA/Nett Academy Mailbag: CWA/NETT Academy Growth Mirrors Member Feedback
WWW.CWANETT.ORG
It's been an explosive growth year for the CWA/NETT Academy, with course offerings expanding from 16 to nearly 40. With Stanly College, one of the nation's premier online learning institutions, the Academy now offers six certificate programs and two-year Associate Degrees in both telecommunications and networking.
"None of this just 'happened,'" said Kevin Celata, CWA training administrator. "These courses have evolved from hundreds of responses to our surveys. CWA/NETT Academy students tell us what they need to advance professionally, what they like, what they don't and why."
"I enjoyed working with both the CWA/NETT Academy and Stanly College," said Jeff Willbanks of Local 6215, a cable-splicing technician for SBC near Dallas, Texas. Studying DC/AC Electronics, he said, "Any problems or questions that arose were quickly taken care of. I appreciate that they took the time to call me personally with solutions as well as sending an e-mail."
John Kelley of Local 13000, a Verizon communications-switching technician in the Pittsburgh area, is pleased with the whole range of training opportunities available. Right now he's taking Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) Essentials. Said Kelley, "CWA/NETT Academy offers excellent courses. I would highly recommend them."
Thomas Tytko Jr. of Local 4340, an SBC customer service specialist in Cleveland, has built the foundation for a better job through CWA/NETT Academy's A+ Computer Upgrade and Repair. "The course was great," Tytko said. "I hope to enroll in more classes in the future."
No matter where you're headed in your technical career, the CWA/NETT Academy can help you take the next step. To learn more about the Academy's programs, log onto our website at www.cwanett.org. You just might find the key to your future.
