CWA/NETT Academy Mailbag: CWA Members Kick Off 2006 with Class
As CWA/NETT Academy's first semester starts on Jan. 17, there are more than twice as many courses to choose from, compared to last January. CWA/NETT Academy's course offerings are constantly growing, as the industry's demand for skills and certifications increases. CWA/NETT Academy works with our partners at Stanly Community College to offer more of what CWA members are asking for, whether the classes are necessary for certification or for wage increases.
The top picks for this year's first students? Fiber and Lasers, PC Literacy, and DC/AC Electronics.
There are other new offerings at CWA/NETT Academy, too. Students can earn their Associate Degree in Applied Science from Stanly Community College, a fully accredited institution, through CWA/NETT. The college will allow students to transfer up to 75 percent of their credits from other colleges and training programs. And you can customize your concentration towards Networking or Telecommunications.
Another feature CWA/NETT Academy added last year is the Certificate Program, which provides students with a certificate for a short series of courses. The certificate is an accomplishment itself, which many employers recognize in your training record. In addition, the courses in these programs have been chosen to help you prepare for industry certification testing.
Once you have the knowledge under your belt for those certification tests, don't forget CWA/NETT Academy has some valuable practice tests on its website. Results have shown these to be some of the best available, and all you need to do to access them is to log on to the CWA/NETT Academy website.
