CWA Reaches Settlement at Cingular Wireless
CWA has reached a tentative agreement with Cingular Wireless covering 5,300 workers under the Orange Contract.
This settlement provides for a compounded wage increase of 11 percent for Cingular Wireless workers over the four-year contract term; improves base compensation for retail sales members by more than 25 percent; addresses call center and retail matters such as quota relief and job duties, as well as other contract gains.
The agreement also further strengthens integration and employment security issues.
A majority of the bargaining committee members is recommending ratification and will be compiling the full details of the settlement. A full report and explanation will be available shortly.
This agreement is subject to membership ratification. Information on the ratification process, including contract explanation meetings, will be available soon.
