CWA Minority Caucus Offers Six Scholarships
The CWA Minority Caucus has boosted its annual $1,000 scholarship offering to six scholarships as a result of a grant from UBS Financial Services.
Previously, the Caucus provided one scholarship each year. Now UBS is funding three new scholarhips and the Caucus is matching that grant, for a total of six. UBS's support was made possible by Erik Zakarin, advisor to the CWA Savings and Retirement Trust and first vice president of the firm.
Scholarships are available to students whose parents, grandparents or legal guardians are Caucus members. Eligible are either new or returning students who have been accepted at accredited colleges or trade schools.
Requirements are examples of community service and completion of a 250-word essay. Applications will be judged at the Minority Caucus meeting prior to the CWA convention, where scholarships will be awarded in late August.
