CWA Members Vote Overwhelmingly to Authorize a Strike at AT&T

Members of the Communications Workers of America at four AT&T units voted overwhelmingly to authorize CWA leaders to call strikes if fair contracts cannot be reached. More than ninety-three (93.5) percent of the voting  AT&T members in the combined units approved the strike authorization.

• 95% of AT&T members in District 1 voted to authorize a strike.
• 92% of AT&T members in District 4 voted to authorize a strike.
• 93% of AT&T members in District 9 voted to authorize a strike.
• 93% of AT&T members in the Legacy AT&T unit voted to authorize a strike.

Separate negotiations over the four contracts currently are underway on behalf of about 40,000 CWA-represented workers at AT&T. The four contracts expire at midnight on April 7.
