Las Vegas -- In district meetings, CWA delegates to the union's 70th convention elected vice presidents whose responsibilities include coordination of bargaining, organizing and other activities in their districts. Along with the three top officers, sector vice presidents and four at-large members, these officers make up the union's executive board; all officers were installed by CWA President emeritus Morton Bahr.

Re-elected to office were Chris Shelton, District 1 (New York, New Jersey and New England); Noah Savant, District 3 (Southeast); Seth Rosen, District 4 (Midwest); Andy Milburn, District 6 (Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana); and Tony Bixler, District 9, covering California, Nevada and Hawaii.

Delegates for District 2, members in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia, elected Ron Collins as vice president. Collins succeeds Pete Catucci, who continues to be a strong advocate for CWA for stem cell research, the Employee Free Choice Act and other issues.

Louise Caddell was elected vice president for District 7, representing workers in 14 states: Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, Oregon, Washington, Arizona and New Mexico. Caddell, who was assistant to the vice president, succeeds Annie Hill who was elected executive vice president of the union.

In District 13, Edward Mooney, president of CWA Local 13000, was elected vice president for members in Pennsylvania and Delaware. He succeeds James Short who retired.

Jim Clark was re-elected president of IUE-CWA, John Clark was re-elected president of NABET-CWA, Bernie Lunzer was elected president of TNG-CWA by a sector referendum tallied in May and Pat Friend earlier had been re-elected president of AFA-CWA under that sector’s bylaws.
