Austin, Texas -- Communications Workers of America District 6 today announced members have ratified their contractual agreement with AT&T Southwest.
District 6 covers about 22,000 CWA members at AT&T operations in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas and Missouri.
“Our members in District 6 take great pride in their work, and the district leadership and the CWA bargaining committee believe we have negotiated a fair and just agreement,” said CWA District 6 Vice President Claude Cummings. “Over 60 percent of our members voted in favor of this agreement, which over its life assures them good wages, family health care and job security.”
An earlier tentative agreement was turned down by a narrow margin last month.
Also, a tentative agreement with AT&T West, covering 18,000 CWA members in California and Nevada is awaiting a member vote. Negotiations are continuing with AT&T East in Connecticut, covering 3,000 members of CWA Local 1298.
Finally, a tentative agreement covering 22,000 AT&T Mobility Workers in 36 states and the District of Columbia is awaiting a member vote.
CWA members at AT&T Midwest, AT&T Legacy and AT&T Southeast have ratified new contracts.
