CWA Avaya Bargaining Report #9

The Union and the Company met today to discuss previously passed language around concerns expressed through bargaining demands received from the membership.

Representatives of the Company maintain that many of the items brought to the table by CWA simply do not exist in the real day to day workings for our members.   A short list of responses by the Company referred to GPS monitoring not being utilized for discipline, no outsourcing of bargaining unit work to India and providing paid sleep time for members that have worked excessive hours throughout the night.

At this point, our dealings with the Company representatives have not yielded the results for which we had hoped.  Your bargaining team is experienced and is aware of the concerns and needs of the membership, including what happens in the work place every day.    The Company is in denial of the reality we bring to the table.

CWA and the bargaining team will continue to fight for the members' work environment and future as well.

We will keep you updated as the final week of bargaining progresses.
