Countdown To Election Day
In a frenetic burst of activity – just hours before Election Day – CWA activists across battleground states are making their final pitch for President Obama, candidates in key state races and critical ballot initiatives.
This election cycle, CWA has been focused on one-on-one, member-to-member contacts. Nearly 15,000 volunteers have phone banked, participated in labor walks and leafleted 3,000 worksites.
“We try to root the political work we do, not in a party or in a candidate, but around what we call economic justice issues and democracy issues and how they’re linked,” said CWA President Larry Cohen on The Richard Fowler Show. (Listen to the rest of the interview here.)

More than 50 IUE-CWA Local 201 members punched out or came in early at shift change to support Massachusetts Rep. John Tierney outside their plant.

Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison drops by a TakeAction Minnesota phone bank and meets state coordinator Mona Meyer.

California state coordinator Judy Perez spreads the word about No on Prop. 32, a ballot initiative designed to silence the political voice of working people. Activists are also campaigning for Yes on
Prop. 30, an initiative that asks everyone in California to pay a fair share of taxes to fund public education and public services.
